GRENADIER -HOW TO BUILD 4X4
Just before lockdown, I was fortunate enough to travel to Swedish Lapland to make a short film about the cold weather testing of Ineos Automotive’s new four-wheel drive utility vehicle, the Grenadier. The shoot involved a combination of drone footage, mini camera rigs and 4K filming as the vehicle was put through its paces on icy forest roads in temperatures of -40 degrees.
SINGALONG WITH TOM
Four months into lockdown, with residents shielding from friends and family, staff at the Heol Don care home in Cardiff decided to stage a celebratory garden party. Care home manager, Kate, spends her holidays staging festivals, so called in a few favours to attract start studded cast of tribute acts, including Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Elvis. Produced for BBC1 Wales popular magazine show 'The Great Escape'.
I SECTIONED MY DAUGHTER
Supporting a loved one through a mental health crisis is a complex and challenging experience for many. I recently filmed and produced a short documentary for C4 News about the struggle of one father to get an effective diagnosis and treatment for the complex mental health issues faced by his daughter. Charlotte Phillips was caught in a revolving door scenario of being sectioned and then discharged without proper support.
DRAMA ON THE HIGH SEAS
A common cause of death and injury at sea is transferring personnel between vessels, or from ship to shore. I directed three short dramas for Shell Maritime, showing the build-up to these accidents. Filmed in Europort and in Houston, Texas, the scenarios involved challenging live environments, stunt coordination and specialist cameras to enhance the potential risks of life at sea.
DEVELOPING A POSITIVE MINDSET
A series of presenter-led films produced and edited for senior managers at Barclays about developing a positive mindset, fronted by business and lifestyle consultant, Jodie Rogers. This project builds on my interest and experience of making films about mental health and wellbeing for a variety of public and private sector organisations.
TACKLING PLASTIC POLLUTION
I recently travelled to the US to investigate new recycling technologies which could transform our use of plastics such as PTE and Polystyrene, which are hard to recycle and end up in landfill. This film explores new chemical recycling technologies that break down plastics into source materials, such as oil and styrene monomers, which can be reused to make new safe materials whilst reducing the use of fossil fuels.
TESCO RECOGNITION
What do a deaf shopper, triplets and ice lollies have in common? They all feature in three short recognition films I produced for Tesco and Media Zoo. Screened to an audience of 10,000 staff at the NEC, these thought provoking, motivational films feature true stories of great customer service where Tesco staff have gone the extra mile.
THE TEENAGE ELVIS
Following on from the success of my BBC1 documentary ‘Mad About Elvis’, I was commissioned to produce an extended feature for the BBC Inside Out strand, about Emilio Santoro, 15-year old Elvis Tribute Act. The film explores the appeal of Elvis to teenager Emilio, as he performs to 3000 fans at the Elvis Festival in Benidorm.
IMPROVING MENTAL HEALTH AT BARCLAYS
I was recently asked to write, direct and edit four short dramas about mental health issues for Barclays. Working with Nuffield Health and Kineo, these modular films form part of large interactive training programme to help staff support colleagues experiencing conditions such as stress and anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.
MAD ABOUT ELVIS
He may have passed away 50 years ago but his Elvis's spirit is a live and kicking in South Wales. Every September tens of thousands of fans gather for the annual Porthcawl Elvis festival, claimed to be the largest Elvis festival in the world. The film follows organisers, performers and Elvis fans and why the lure of Elvis is still going strong after all these years. The film will be broadcast on BBC1 in June 2018 as part of the series 'Our Lives'.
BY ROYAL INVITATION
Household staff at Buckingham Palace saw my recent film for the Historic Royal Palaces and commissioned me to make an new induction film for staff about Royal Garden Parties. Currently in post production, the film features caterers, florists, chefs and household staff, looking at the preparation and work that goes into making this highlight of the social calendar, a great success.
THE MILLION DOLLAR TEACHER
Tracy-Ann Hall was one of 12 teachers shortlisted for the Global Teacher Prize. Her lessons on automotive technology provide a vital route to training and employment for pupils from the socially deprived district of Spanish Town, Jamaica. I travelled to Jamaica to make a short film about Tracy-Ann's special approach to teaching. BP - CLEANING UP ITS ACT
Most people are familiar with the devastating environmental impacts of oil spills, such as the Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010. Thankfully these events are few and far between, but when they do occur organisations need to prepare and have a plan in place. Working with BP & Kineo, I recently filmed and edited an interactive training programme for oil industry staff.
A HIGH WIRE ACT: SEVERN BRIDGE AT 50 - BBC 2
The iconic first Severn Crossing inspired the construction of many other bridges around the world, from the Humber to the Bosphorus. Part-archive, part-observational documentary, I produced and shot the film for BBC Wales and it is due for TX on BBC2 at 19.00 on 17th September 2016.

High quality catering company CH & Co working in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces asked me to direct and edit a short recruitment film about staff sharing their experiences of working in the prestigious surroundings of the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF ECONOMICS
The OUBEP or Oxford University Business Economics Programme provides an intensive two-week summer school provides a select group of business leaders with a strategic overview of global economic theory. I joined them for a day, talked to delegates and staff and produced a short promotional film.

Tetra Rex, the world’s first recyclable packaging for perishable foods, won numerous food industry awards for its innovation and green credentials. This film included animation, live footage and interviews to promote its benefits to staff and customers worldwide.

To coincide with RBS’s first quarter results, I was recently tasked with producing a film an internal comms film featuring staff and Personal Banking CEO, Les Matheson, talking about their achievements in becoming the best bank for customer service in the UK.
GAME ON WITH BARCLAYS
Motivating mortgage advisors to provide better customer service was the challenge set to workplace learning specialist City & Guilds Kineo, I recently worked in conjunction with Zing to direct a series of dramatic scenarios for an interactive game to train staff at Barclays Bank.

BBC 4 - ON STAGE with BRISTOL OLD VIC THEATRE SCHOOL
Over the last few months I have been self-shooting and producing a new observational documentary following final year drama students building up to their graduation and the start of their professional acting careers. It's been fascinating to get an inside track on the techniques and craft of acting. The film is part of the a new BBC4 series celebrating British theatre.
A PRAYER FOR HUMANITY WINS FOCAL INTERNATIONAL AWARD
I wrote and directed two films for the Imperial War Museum about the restoration of a WWII documentary on the German concentration camps. Produced by Sidney Bernstein as a testament to Nazi atrocities, this documentary was never completed until now. My contextual films combine archive, actuality and interviews with historians and camp survivors. The film collected a special award at the International Focal Awards in London.
ST GEORGE'S CARES
I've just completed editing a new brand/induction film for St George's Hospital NHS Trust. One of the leading teaching hospital's in the UK, the film show the many different roles and experiences working at St George's provides from open heart surgery, to prison nurses and landscape gardeners.
CASTROL JOIN FORCES WITH KOENIGSEGG
I recently directed two event films for Castrol/BP at the Milbrook testing ground. The projects involved a multi-camera shoot, go-pro rigs and onsite editing for a fast turnaround production. We also got close up with some of the fastest production cars in the world including the Koenigsegg mega one2one.
